Chevrolet Silverado for NEMCO Motorsports, is still looking for his first victory of the 2017 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season. Nemechek and the No. 8 team hope their luck changes Friday, June 9 at the Texas Motor Speedway and he can win a brand new cowboy hat, something that would make his 20th birthday extra special on June 11. Race Rewind: Texas Motor Speedway … John Hunter Nemechek, driver of the No. 8 Death Wish Coffee Co., Chevrolet Silverado for NEMCO Motorsports, finished in the 18th-position in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Striping Technology 350 at the Texas Motor Speedway on November 4, 2016. Nemechek started the 147-lap event from the 19th-place, and he held in the top-15 in the opening 20 laps, but as the laps clicked away, handling issues began to take their toll. The 19-year old raced to the eighth-place by Lap 90 as the NEMCO Motorsports crew continued to work to cure the issues. NASCAR penalized Nemechek for speeding on pit road when he made a pit stop on Lap 126, and he had to restart at the end of the longest line. On the ensuing restart on Lap 129 Nemechek was penalized for passing on a restart, resulting in a pass through penalty. These setbacks didn’t deter Nemechek, who ultimately finished in the 18th-place, maintaining his position in the closing laps just one spot out of the free-pass position and a return to the lead lap.

In the Rearview Mirror: Dover International Speedway… John Hunter Nemechek, driver of the No. 8 Fire Alarm Services, Inc. / ACME Chevrolet Silverado for NEMCO Motorsports, finished 22nd in the Bar Harbor 200 presented by Sea Watch International NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race on June 2 at the Dover International Speedway in Dover, Del. After starting in the 20th-position in the 32-truck field, Nemechek finished the first 45 lap segment in the ninth position. On Lap 89, before the conclusion of Stage 2, Nemechek was involved in an incident on the frontstretch. Ultimately, despite a trip to pit road to repair damage, Nemechek’s Chevrolet Silverado sustained enough damage to send it to the garage.
